Our team
A core group of MIT-trained engineers joined by a group of dedicated students, industry consultants and advisors with experience in developing world markets.
Vision & Approach
Access to an affordable, distributed, renewable form of energy generation can improve productivity and quality of life in rural villages, clinics, schools, and organizations.
Contributors
We would especially like to acknowledge individuals who have contributed in some way to STG’s work, from on-the-ground time in Lesotho to technology development in the US.
Background
During his Peace Corps duty in Lesotho), STG President Matt Orosz experienced first-hand what it is like to live in a rural mountain village with no electricity or running water. See more.
WHO ARE WE ?
IMAGINE IF YOU COULD TAKE COMPONENTS FROM COMMON EQUIPMENT (CARS, AIR CONDITIONERS ETC.) AND SOME SUPPLIES FROM YOUR LOCAL PLUMBING STORE AND RECOMBINE THEM IN A NEW WAY TO CREATE A SIMPLE ENGINE THAT RUNS USING HEAT INSTEAD OF PETROLEUM. ADD TO IT A SOURCE OF FREE FUEL (THE SUN) AND YOU GET A CLEAN, SUSTAINABLE, AND INEXPENSIVE SOURCE HOT WATER, ELECTRICITY AND EVEN REFRIGERATION.

OUR GROUP IS MADE UP OF INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE COMMITTED TO MAKING SOMETHING LIKE THIS POSSIBLE, NOT ONLY IN THE UNITED STATES WHERE IT IS EASY TO STOP BY YOUR LOCAL HOME DEPOT ON THE WAY HOME FROM WORK, BUT ALMOST ANYWHERE AROUND THE GLOBE.
